Beautypreneur PH | Should We Consider Aesthetic Regenerative Treatments? | Manila Bulletin – From time to time, my husband and I discuss the remarkable technological advancements in medicine over the past few decades—particularly in regenerative treatments such as stem cell therapy, advanced tissue engineering, and platelet-rich plasma technology, to name a few.

As the name implies, regenerative treatments harness the power of our body’s natural healing processes through advanced technologies to promote repair and regeneration. These are less invasive and offer a more natural approach since it uses its own cells or natural substances for the body to recuperate. It can also lead to faster recovery time with less side effects versus traditional methods, especially in the field of sports medicine when it comes to tissue repair.

While we recognize that being in our 40s means we are not yet in need of such interventions, I was surprised by my recent discoveries. After attending several events on aesthetic regenerative treatments, spaced a few weeks apart, it became clear that these treatments are becoming more mainstream and accessible. And our first exposure to these innovations will most likely be through the aesthetics field.

Hair Regrowth

From hair thinning and loss to androgenic alopecia, Regenera Activa stimulates hair follicles to regenerate through micrografting. This requires extracting a small scalp tissue sample of about two millimeters that is processed with sterile saline solution. The process usually takes about 15 to 30 minutes, enriching the sample with regenerative cells which is then injected back into the areas that need hair follicle rejuvenation.

D’Mark Beauty Corporation also recommends this treatment for preventive care against hair loss, as well as for hair recovery following postnatal and post-cancer treatments. Visible results typically appear in 30 to 90 days.

Lessen Lines, Wrinkles, Scars

Uneven skin tone, pigmentation, acne scars, and signs of aging like fine lines, wrinkles, and decreased elasticity can all be addressed with Rejuran, a product from South Korea. Dr. Sandy Tan of Skin Inc. and Tritan Medical Aesthetics, local distributor of Rejuran, explains that it uses polynucleotides derived from salmon DNA, known for its regenerative properties. This solution is injected into the skin, often with the use of microneedling, to promote collagen production. The treatment helps firm the skin, reduce lines and wrinkles—even around the eye area—and delivers a brighter, more even skin tone. Results can vary, typically appearing within two to 12 weeks, with two to four sessions usually recommended. Long-term improvements can last up to six months.

Overall Skin Rejuvenation

At the Aivee Clinic X Plinest launch, I was seated with two of their clients that can attest to the benefits of using this treatment. One is in her 70s, while the other one is in her late 40s who lost over 50 pounds. Both shared how Plinest, an Italian product, visibly rejuvenated their faces and décolletage through its anti-inflammatory and hydrating effects, as well as lifting and tightening results. Treatments might require three sessions spaced four weeks apart and may need follow-up sessions every three to six months. Results may last up to six months, depending on the patient’s skin condition and lifestyle.

All these aesthetic regenerative treatments are mostly available in skin clinics. It is highly recommended that you discuss with your doctor on the best treatments suited for you and your lifestyle.
