Personally speaking, it is near impossible for me to imagine a world without makeup. May it be because I have grown so accustomed to it and it has seeped its way into becoming a routine for me, or the perks it gives in terms of improving my appearance are just too hard to say no to. But as we look towards the men in our lives – our fathers, brothers, and significant others, we tend to wonder: what do they think about all these products on our faces? Should us women take the time to educate them on the different brush sizes and their varying purposes? And what will this knowledge bring them? Let’s find out.

Although some men claim that they prefer girls without makeup because of the more laid back and simple vibe it gives off, sometimes women wear makeup not to impress men, but for their own personal satisfaction. Working women may require to have makeup on to look more presentable and professional, while teenagers steer towards the more aesthetic sense and explorative side of makeup. There are some men who know the basics of makeup such as foundation and blush, and only a rare few understand the logic behind contouring and eyelash extensions. This familiarization can stem from men attempting to buy makeup for their loved one’s birthday or Christmas present, or they have occasionally succumb into their girlfriend’s request to put makeup on them.

The bottomline is, men do not necessarily need to know what makes this shade of lipstick different from the other 5 shades of lipstick in your stash. They do, however, can tell if a girl has outdone her look. Makeup is meant to enhance one’s beauty, not to alter or cover it up. It is perfectly fine to wear makeup to bring out your eyes or lighten a few spots, but this should all be done for your own betterment. Truthfully speaking, the men in your lives will accept you, flaws and all, so do not be afraid to let your skin breathe once in a while and go for the natural look, too!
