Last month, I was invited as a resource person on the subject of beauty by Talk.Shop.Asia. It was a pleasure to discuss skincare and how to avoid some of the most common skin problems with anchor Rolly Pagaspas and special co-host Dr. Eduardo “EG” Ong.

Here are some things we discussed that are worth sharing.

Different Skin Types

I’m sure you’ve already heard about sensitive, dry, and oily skin, but do you really know your skin type? You should not just start guessing so I recommend that you visit your dermatologist. This is to know what products will work on your skin and what won’t.

To keep your skin clean and healthy, you must first find a good cleanser. Choosing a cleanser is difficult as regular soap can affect the acid mantle of the skin and can leave your skin feeling tight, dry, and itchy.  This is the reason why brands like Sebamed and Bioderma offer specific cleansers for different skin types. Their skincare products respect the natural pH balance to keep your skin smooth and healthy.

Premature Skin Aging

Premature skin aging can manifest in several ways including wrinkles, dark spots, and loss of skin elasticity. These problems can be due to a number of factors but the most common factor that causes maximum damage is the sun’s UV rays.

For this reason, it is important to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun by applying sunscreen everyday. Dermatologists recommend using SPF 50 sunscreen to provide your skin enough UV protection.

Dandruff, Damaged Hair, and Hair Loss

Skincare for most people is limited to the face and body, thus the scalp is often neglected. Dry scalp, dandruff, and hair fall are signs that you are not treating your scalp right. Use a shampoo that can effectively cleanse your scalp and a conditioner that can help maintain the scalp’s moisture to avoid having to deal with dandruff.

If you are having trouble with hair loss, you shouldn’t worry too much as there are hair care products that are specifically created to help in the hair regrowth process to have thicker and healthier hair. Bothered by your lifeless, frizzy hair due to constant heat styling and hair color? There are shampoo treatments specifically for damaged hair to help bring your hair back to life. For even better results, pair it with a conditioner that can moisturize your scalp for a healthier, shinier hair.

Keep these simple but life-changing skincare and hair care tips in mind and remember to try out our products to have a healthy scalp and glowing, younger looking skin.
