Beautypreneurph.com | What it’s like to be a ‘Wonder WoMom’

Let’s honor single moms, or as I call them, Wonder WoMoms! Knowing a few of them myself, I know their lifestyle and all I can say is, “Wow!” I am amazed at how they manage their time — first, as a mom, then as a corporate executive or as a businesswoman, and then staying composed and beautiful at parties and dinners — making everything look effortless. Unbelievable but true.

Are you curious how they do it? Because I am. Read on for some tips and words of wisdom from the Wonder WoMoms themselves. We can learn a lot from these Super Moms!
Single mom defined — Ruby Chua.

First, a single mother is someone who chooses to shine even after all the storms she has been through. Second, she is aware that peace doesn’t always require two people. It requires only one and that’s her. Third, she always pays attention to her gut feelings, hence, she is too old for games, too tired to pretend and too wise for lies. Fourth, she will sacrifice and risk her life to protect her children. And finally, throw a single mother to the wolves and she will return leading the pack.

What life means — Nikki Tang
Raising my children is one of my precious achievements. My sons may not have everything they want in life, but they have a mom who loves them more than anything in the world.

I am so proud to say that I have raised God-fearing, smart and kindhearted boys. They are my treasure, my workforce and my rock. They continue to make me smile and fulfill me. They give my life and my business more meaning because I am reminded that I am working here for something that is much bigger than just myself.

Challenging yet rewarding — Yamani Caliwara
I love these quotes: “Being a single parent is twice the work, twice the stress and twice the tears but also twice the hugs, twice the love and twice the pride. Being a single parent is not a life full of struggles, but a journey for the strong.”

My two daughters are my inspiration and the anchor of my life. They supersede anything I do, and my daily decisions are driven by how I can positively affect them every day.

Unbreakable bond — Ayna Ong
I love being a Mom, albeit nothing prepared me for the challenges and struggles which came with single motherhood and raising teenagers at that! While I juggled the duties of being a mom and a dad, I also became the sole provider and family chief financial officer.

The first years were far from perfect, but I knew that with determination, I could come through for my kids.

Twice the love, twice the pride — Marife Zamora
Author Barbara Kingsolver said, “Sometimes the strength of motherhood is greater than natural laws.” Whether by choice or happenstance, solo moms are a village all unto themselves. Being one is twice the work, twice the stress but also twice the hugs, twice the love and twice the pride. I did not set out to be a solo mom. I set out to be the best mom to Ian and Tina, my daughter-in-law Jhoana, and the best Mamita to Ayrton and Riley. And that hasn’t changed.

Double the duty,
double the reward — Connie Haw
Being a working single parent instills in you a sense of determination. As a single mom, you take on the challenge alone, you take on double the duty and show double the strength.

I am full of struggles at home and at work. I am tired but I keep going. At times I am worried, but I am still full of hope. Impatient yet patient. I am overwhelmed by challenges but I never quit. I’m a life-changer every single day.

Always more than enough — Elizabeth Ventura
It takes extraordinary strength and heart to be a mom and a dad at the same time, so to all single moms out there, remember that you are tough, and in the eyes of your kids, you are always more than enough! Cheers to us, Super Moms!
