As an earlier article pointed out, climate change is real and it is only getting worse day by day. Although we cannot control or completely stop the carbon emissions of factories, nor can the Philippines seem to solve the issue of traffic, we must take it upon ourselves to save the world in our own little ways.

Going green is not as hard as it looks, and it does not require a 360 degree change of lifestyle. We can start with always bringing around a jug or container of water instead of constantly buying bottles of water, only to throw it once it is empty. Another attempt to eliminate plastic is by avoiding straws and using eco-bags.

In terms of a cleaner home, unplugging appliances that are not in use can save in terms of idle currents, since appliances that are off but still connected to the socket still make use of electricity. In addition to this, you can purchase your light bulbs, air conditioning units, and other appliances that fall under the category of eco friendly or power saving. Dispose old batteries, segregate your trash, avoid aerosol sprays, and use organic cleaning products.
These are only a few of the many ways you can go green and decrease your carbon footprint in the world. If all of us get together for a common cause, we can slow down the effects of global warming not only for our sake, but for future generations too.
